Regret crawls with me to bed each night, Stays with me longer than usual. He brings with him your memories, And makes my tears ricochet. When I decided to leave you, I struggled to find an excuse, Because your heart was etched with love, And loyalty was weaved in your soul. Lying by myself, I just wanted to thank you For being the warmest hay that I came back to ever night, For lending your ear even for the tiniest rant, And for being the most beautiful page of my life. Because after you, I realised My eyes looked out for your compassion, Heart craved your love, And my body searched your warmth in every person I met.
